Jordyn With A Why Releases ‘Where You Water’
Jordyn with a Why returns to her roots with her new single Where You Water, a soulful entrance into the world of her upcoming EP. Live recorded at Parachute Studio A, Jordyn describes the single as: “lessons of a thirty-something. with extra soul. feels equal parts lived and naive.”
Co-written with an ensemble of creative geniuses (choicevaughan, Noema Te Hau III, Leonardo Coghini, Eugene and Hope Fuimaono), Where You Water is indulgent.

A second single, ‘pop champagne’ will drop on September 25, followed by the full EP on October 9
With her reo Māori cover of Olivia Dean’s Man I Need going viral, and the launch of 4 The Masses – a collective made up of Jordyn, Mohi and Hope, intent on taking reo Māori music global – Jordyn’s year is only just getting started. The release of Where You Water coincides with another journey, as she travels to the UK to perform and deliver reo Māori to the literal masses.
Today Jordyn With A Why also announces the new Where You Water EP.
“This project is an introspective deep dive into my own personal experiences. It’s a return to how I began this career – just me and the journeys I’ve navigated.”
For Jordyn, this return to her roots also meant stripping back her production process for her upcoming EP–recording real instruments live, with the people she trusts most.
“Seeing the rise of AI and the over-saturation of trends, I want this project to be the complete opposite – live recorded, indulgent, with my real team, playing real instruments, people that know me and have walked alongside me.”
The upcoming seven-track EP was recorded live alongside the musicians who have walked beside her throughout her journey. This project is an intimate, deeply personal response to an increasingly AI- and trend-driven music landscape, bringing Jordyn back to the heart of why she began making music in the first place.
“I think we need pockets to actually indulge in reality – sonic ways to anchor us. I want this project to find people in their realities, rather than their escapism – I want the audience to feel like real life truly is the most worthwhile place to be – that it’s worth fighting for, worth the investment of time and attention. To truly be in the plot of your reality. That is what this project is.”
