Kiwi Ready To Rock

The countdown to the new 100% Kiwi radio network, replacing Channel Z, reaches its conclusion at 7pm this Sunday (Waitangi Day).
While the on-air line-up and precise programming details remain unknown, it is expected the initial broadcast will include a Kiwi music countdown based on votes made via the station’s website over the last two weeks.
Programme Director Grant Hislop says this type of station is overdue.
“Simply put: About bloody time! We are rapt that this plan is finally coming to fruition and the feedback so far has been nothing short of phenomenal,” he says.
“The last few years have been such a watershed period for the local scene with brilliant new acts, and programmers and listeners alike taking risks that they may not have a decade ago.
“Kiwi will continue to be instrumental in breaking new acts as well as focusing on the best of New Zealand music both past and present.”
