Layla Moth Releases New Album ‘Music-L-Chemy’
Nelson-based artist Layla Moth has today released her highly anticipated debut album, Music-L-Chemy, a strikingly intimate exploration of emotional depth and recovery through pure piano and vocals – no auto-tune, just raw authenticity. The album captures themes of overcoming life’s struggles, blending elements of jazz, soul, and literary nonsense with her unique style of “srapping” (singing-rapping).
To celebrate the release, Layla will perform alongside Amez on Keyz, Eva Simone, and DJs Nil Trace and Elusiv playing house music.
Beyond her solo work, Layla Moth is a vocalist, songwriter, pianist, and improvisational saxophonist under her persona Freedom on Sax. Through her electronic project Miss Implicit, she has carved a dynamic presence in New Zealand’s music scene as a DJ, Producer, and Event Manager for the Mystiq Catalysts Collective – an initiative hosting Live Jam with DJ events across the country and promoting self-sovereignty through music.
In addition to her musical endeavors, Layla wears many hats – she’s a piano teacher and runs Freedom HR, her own HR consultancy, proving that her creative and entrepreneurial spirit knows no bounds.
