Hyperverse stands as Finn’s most expansive work to date, conceived, written, and recorded entirely through live streaming sessions. Embracing a DIY ethos, Finn performed every instrument and handled the mixing and production himself, offering fans an intimate glimpse into his creative process.

“The Hyperverse project has been a labor of love and the most creative period of my life,” says Finn. “I wanted to find a way to write, record, and release music outside of the traditional industry standards, replacing the parts that felt forced and soul-destroying with more creativity and more connection to humans. What I ended up with is a body of work that encapsulates the epic three-year process and some of the most honest and exciting music I’ve ever made.” – Liam Finn

The album’s focus track, Love in Disguise marks an emotional high point of Hyperverse. Blending dreamy nostalgia with art-pop sensibilities, it feels like scrolling through old videos on your phone “once the honeymoon is over” – a lyric that perfectly captures the heart of the song.

“It’s about love imbalance and the patterns I’ve watched my friends repeat over and over.” – Liam Finn

Love in Disguise is poised to resonate with lovers of Sad Indie – fans of Lana Del Rey, Bon Iver and Boygenuis will not be disappointed.

Beyond his solo endeavors, Finn has been actively involved with Crowded House since joining the band in 2020 alongside his father, Neil Finn. He contributed to their last two albums Dreamers Are Waiting and Gravity Stairs and has been touring extensively with the group ever since. In November 2024, Finn also opened for Pearl Jam during their Auckland shows, sharing the stage with legends and showcasing his multifaceted talent.
