Ollie Bunnie Releases Debut Single ‘Show Me Rivers’
Recorded live at 13 Garrett Street, Te Whanganui a Tara and produced by Connor Lyttle, Show Me Rivers is a powerhouse rock anthem written as an ode to love and companionship.
This song is a confession of the gratitude Ollie has for his partner, community and home. Ollie Bunnie is a singer/songwriter, performer, organiser, event coordinator at @13garrettstreet, Radio Host at Radioactive.fm and a passionate punter of Aotearoa’s music culture. From Te Whanganui a Tara, NZ, this alternative rock project blends Ollie’s influences of rock, folk, funk and jazz into the honest and recognisable tunes we are soon to cherish.
For Ollie Bunnie, music started as a form of therapy. Beginning in the early 2010’s with the news of his mother’s cancer and a second hand guitar, he deeply resonated with the songwriting and jamming process. Ollie organised/performed his first show at 13 years old with his teenage metal band. After his mother’s passing, Ollie left school to learn more about expression through music (at MAINZ & Massey University) and began the funk/rock project Munkhouse with some very close friends and class musicians. Munkhouse was a strong force in Ollie’s life when he and 5 other band mates (Including Chris Simpson and Alex Martin) migrated from Auckland to Wellington in 2020, to be promptly slowed down by 2020’s lockdowns.
Since then, Ollie has made a strong name for himself in the windy capital as a passionate and contributing member of the Poneke music scene through performing and organising with Eyegum, 13 Garrett Street, Radioactive.fm and many others.. Ollie Bunnie has big plans for the future of Underground music culture of Aotearoa, both as an artist, and as an organiser.
