Rei Joins Forces with Lady Shaka and Huia

Korikori, brings together Lady Shaka, Rei and Huia for a genre-bending fusion of Pacific Afro House, Baile Funk, te reo Māori and electronic music.
Born from conversations in London and later developed at Kog Studio in the Waitākere Ranges, the waiata draws on the artists’ shared whakapapa connections and a collective desire to create contemporary Indigenous dance music that feels distinctly of Te Moana-nui-a-Kiwa.
Filled with haka-inspired chants, movement and celebration, Korikori is a reminder to seek joy, move your body and embrace collective energy.
The track was debuted at the International Indigenous Music Summit in Toronto during the Aotearoa HūHā Music and Matariki Cultural Foundation showcase.
At its heart sits a simple call:
“Takahi, Kataki Korihi, Ara me Korikori, Tinana!”
“Stand, sing out, then shake, move the body!”
Korikori represents a future-focused vision for Indigenous electronic music – one that is rooted in whakapapa, language and Pacific identity while speaking confidently to global audiences.
