Robots in Love Release ‘Cease and Desist’
Ōtepoti’s powerhouse electronic rock band Robots in Love release Cease and Desist, the second single from their upcoming album Override.
The song is about extreme obsession. The band’s vocalist, Elenor Rayner says, “I recently discovered the word ‘limerence’ and began thinking about the inability to control obsession. Hence the line ‘limerence closes every door’ where no amount of reasoning can get through.”
Musically, the song is dark, heavy, melodic electronic rock, along the lines of Bring Me The Horizon and Nine Inch Nails, a style Elenor and drummer/producer Alex Burchell have made their own. As with their previous single, Convergence, they are joined by guitarist Henry Flynn Wall from Rebirth to Ruin.
Cease and Desist comes with a remix by legendary Australian cyberpunk band, Sirus. The remix is a 4 minute journey through decades of electronic music; kicking off with the unmistakable sound of the 80’s, then an interlude of 90’s RnB and into dark and powerful sounds of the future.
The release also includes a more subversive remix by Alex under the name Magnetique.
