Sad-Girl Pop Artist Tebsin Releases Debut Single ‘Decadence’
Independent artist Tebsin unveils her debut single Decadence today, March 27 – a dark, cinematic pop track that explores the intoxicating pull of following your heart’s desire (even if it means risking self-destruction) and the beauty that can exist inside the chaos of everything falling away.
Written in the moments spent alone spiraling into the fear and freedom of letting herself want something so dangerous, Decadence sits in the space between indulgence and consequence. Lush and atmospheric, the track pairs haunting melodies with intimate lyricism, capturing the quiet tension between wanting something you know will undo you – and wanting it anyway.
Tebsin is the solo project of April Nisbet, a Rotorua-raised songwriter now based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland whose work leans into emotional honesty and the messiness of being human. After more than a decade based in Taupō fronting pop-punk band False Heights, her solo work moves into more vulnerable territory – cinematic, melancholic pop that lingers long after the final note.
The release marks the beginning of a new chapter for April, with a growing catalogue of music set to follow throughout 2026. Tebsin’s songs exist somewhere between confession and longing – music written for the quiet hours when emotions feel closest to the surface.
To celebrate the release, Tebsin will also perform a series of intimate acoustic shows in March and April.
