The release comes just prior to Sanoi’s performance at the sold-out Electric Avenue festival (Feb 27/28), with a large scale visual show planned at NZ’s biggest festival. A last-minute addition to the lineup, Sanoi will be bringing tracks from Augenblick and his full catalogue to the biggest stage in the country.
Augenblick: Side B, completes the full Augenblick experience – a body of work that captures Sanoi in a rare moment of open-ended exploration, embracing process over expectation and emotion over formula.
With Augenblick, the German word for “moment”, Sanoi invites listeners into a collection of fleeting yet resonant experiences. Side B does not simply conclude the album; it completes a carefully shaped journey through sound, memory, and feeling.
Released in December 2025, Side A featured ambient soundscapes, downtempo grooves, and lo-fi beatwork, while Side B expands the emotional and sonic palette of the project, with added vocal samples leaning into experimental, beat-driven spaces where atmosphere and rhythm move as one.
Side B continues to explore electronic sounds that sit outside easy categorisation. The opening track Scavengers sets a cinematic tone, built on layered strings and evolving textures that create a vast sense of atmosphere. It feels less like an introduction and more like stepping into a fully formed world.
California Sober follows with a deep, reflective energy, patient and inward-looking, allowing space for subtle emotional weight to surface. In contrast, Try It emerges as the album’s most dancefloor-oriented moment, unmistakably rooted in Sanoi’s signature style. Soulful sampling meets energetic drops, balancing musicality with forward momentum.
Count It brings a playful bounce, channelling the spirit of the 2010’s LA beat scene with rhythmic looseness and an undeniable sense of movement. Meanwhile, Under The Trees nods to early 2000’s downbeat recordings, weaving warm soul samples into a track that feels both nostalgic and freshly interpreted.
A standout moment arrives with What Is The Word, a deep, contemplative house cut inspired by DJ Koze, Pampa Records, and the sounds that helped define Sanoi’s formative years. It carries a quiet emotional depth while remaining grounded in groove. Closing the record, 62 Miles drifts into pure soundscape territory. Somewhat unsettling and beautiful, the track offers a powerful final breath to the album.
Side B, brings Augenblick to completion, presenting the final part of Sanoi’s studio exploration. Across both sides, the project reflects an expanded version of his sound, offering an inviting entry point for new listeners and a complete listening experience for those following from the beginning.
