Combining emotive songwriting, cinematic electronic production, and soulful vocals, the track explores an experience many people know but rarely talk about: feeling completely alone while surrounded by others.

Written after an experience of profound loneliness at a music festival and later shaped by the loss of a friend to suicide, Dusk Til Dawn explores the silent struggles many people carry beneath the surface. The song reflects on the disconnect that can exist between how we appear to the world and what we may be experiencing internally, even in moments surrounded by people, noise, and connection.

Ultimately, Dusk Til Dawn is a message of hope. It reminds us that from dusk till dawn, from our darkest moments into a new day, we can learn to show ourselves compassion, be there for one another, and remember that no matter how isolated we may feel, we are never truly alone.

“The song came from standing in a crowd of thousands of people and realising I had never felt more alone,” says Soulti. “Festivals are often portrayed as places of connection and joy, but sometimes people are carrying grief, depression, anxiety, or self-doubt beneath the surface. I wanted to write something that acknowledged those feelings while also offering hope.”

Blending cinematic electronic production with deeply human storytelling, the track captures the emotional tension between isolation and belonging. Moving between moments of vulnerability, tension, and hope, Dusk Til Dawn serves as a reminder that behind every smile, every social feed, or every crowded room may be a story we cannot see.

“One of the most important things I’ve learned – and am still learning – is that we never truly know what someone else is going through,” Soulti explains. “I’ve had my own battles with anxiety, self-doubt, and escapism, and this song is a reminder to check in on your friends, to be honest when you’re struggling, and to remember that none of us has to carry those burdens alone.”

The release arrives at a time when conversations around mental health, loneliness, and wellbeing continue to grow across Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally. Rather than presenting answers, Dusk Til Dawn invites listeners into an honest conversation about belonging, vulnerability, and the importance of human connection.

Musically, the track showcases Soulti’s signature blend of electronic pop, melodic bass influences, and heartfelt storytelling. It forms a key chapter within Storm In a T-Cup, a debut EP exploring resilience, self-discovery, and finding beauty within life’s challenges.

Over recent years, Soulti has built a reputation as a dynamic live performer, seamlessly combining DJing, live vocals and original music at festivals including Soundsplash, Splore, AUM, Shipwrecked and Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival. She has collaborated with internationally acclaimed MC Tali and opened for Dutch psychedelic blues-rock trio My Baby, while continuing to develop her own distinctive blend of electronic music and heartfelt storytelling. As her career continues to grow, Soulti has forged connections with industry professionals across Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe, paving the way for international performances, new collaborations and the release of her single and debut EP while in the UK this summer.

Accompanying the release is an independently produced music video created alongside Auckland multimedia artist Rongotai Lomas. Shot over the course of one evening and into the early hours of the morning, the pair captured Auckland’s contrasting moods across Karangahape Road, the downtown waterfront, ferry terminal, and skyline. Filmed and edited entirely by Michels and Lomas without a production crew, the video mirrors the emotional journey of the song, moving through moments of solitude, reflection, and hope as the city transitions from night towards dawn.

Together, the single and its visuals represent a significant artistic step forward for Soulti, reinforcing her commitment to creating music that connects through honesty, vulnerability, and shared experience.

To further support the song’s message, 50% of proceeds from Dusk Til Dawn will be donated to mental health projects. More than simply raising awareness, the release aims to encourage open conversations around loneliness, anxiety, grief, and connection while giving back to organisations supporting people experiencing mental health challenges.

“If this song helps even one person feel a little less alone, or encourages someone to check in on a friend or ask for help themselves, then it’s done what I hoped it would. Music has always helped me through difficult times, and I hope Dusk Til Dawn can do the same for someone else.”

Dusk Til Dawn will be available on all major streaming platforms from July 10, 2026.
