Springloader New Single and Video Out Now
Failsafe Records and Springloader are pleased to announce new single and video Looking Out For You from the new Just Like Yesterday album. The single is an ode to love lost at first sight and explores the bristling power pop aspects of the bands sound with chiming 12 string guitars and chunky guitar hooks.
A four piece Proto-shoegaze/Dreampop/IndieRock/PostRock band, Springloader originate from Christchurch New Zealand. They formed in the mid 90s searching for sounds to invigorate their ears and to write cinematic indie powerpop built around valve-crunched guitars and powered beats. The band use specially designed alternative tunings and open ringing string chords to reach places stretched fingers and standard chords forms could not, discovering melodic and tone combinations not available with traditional approaches.
After a burst of productivity and recording laying the foundation for 18 songs the band took a ‘temporary’ break that accidentally lasted 2 decades. They reconvened in 2020 to continue what they started as if no time had passed, culminating in the new album Just Like Yesterday. Not meant to be purposefully ironic the album name is actually taken from a name of a core song, which now adds a poignant counter relevance not lost on the band, as they deliver an album of indiegaze-dreampop with a cinematic soundtrack bent created over a 30 year period as if no time has passed at all.
The result is a dense, melodic and energetic journey through 10 songs
The Looking Out For You single will is available now on streaming and download platforms, and the new video for the song also will premiere on the Failsafe YoTtube Channel on April 3rd.
The Album is available now nationwide in NZ trough JB Hifi’s 23 stores, RideOnSuperSound, in CHCH and Relics Music Dunedin, on Bandcamp and the Failsafe Webstore in deluxe packaged compact disc in a double gate-fold card sleeve, with 12 page booklet of liner notes, lyrics, chord charts & alternative tuning information!, It will also be available through digital download platforms. Only the singles will be on streaming platforms.
