Stan Walker Brings ‘A Symphonic Experience’ to Pōneke
Following a sold-out show in Tāmaki Makaurau and with the Ōtautahi show close to sold out, Stan Walker (Tūhoe, Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti Ranginui, Ngāti Pūkenga, Tūhourangi, Ngāti Wāhiao, Ngāti Porou, Ngāti Whakaue and Ngāi Tahu) has added a third show to his Symphonic Experience tour, this time in Pōneke.
A treasure of the Aotearoa music industry, Walker is presenting something new with ‘Stan Walker – A Symphonic Experience’, performing new songs and reimagining fan favourites with his live band and the power of a full orchestra.
“When I do other shows, it’s like welcoming people into the front room of my house, but you haven’t even seen the kitchen or the backyard yet. A Symphonic Experience is that. A full tour of my whole whare,” he says.
The Pōneke announcement coincides with his newest single, Kāinga, released for Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.
Walker says he’s already counting down to playing in Wellington.
“Pōneke is home to some of the greatest musicians in Aotearoa and the crowds are always electric. I can’t wait to bring the full experience of this show to the capital.”
