The life and music of Ian Morris celebrated with album and single ‘The Distance Between You And Me’ out today

Today, the family of Ian Morris (Th’ Dudes, Tex Pistol) share a gift with Kiwi music lovers, the solo album the music icon completed before his death 10 years ago. a and b the c of d is out now on digital platforms and will be released on limited edition LP next Friday.

With the release of a and b the c of d (a family short-code for above and beyond the call of duty) comes radio single The Distance Between You And Me, a track that Kim Willoughby calls a quintessentially Ian Morris song.

“The production is beautiful, with the guitar riff, acoustic guitar and electric guitar blending like a delicious soup. It’s got a real summer road trip vibe, even though the lyrics are deep and philosophical. Everyone can relate to the difficulties of what a communication breakdown can be like. The song shows Ian’s strength in his way with words. The album has so many different sounding songs but this one really represents what the album is.”

a and b the c of d is out today digitally via DRM, and will be in record stores Friday 6 November. Auckland fans are invited to attend a listening party at Flying Out this evening from 5pm.
