Three Houses Down release summer anthem ‘Love and Affection’

One of Aotearoa’s most loved family bands, Three Houses Down, are back with new music – single Love and Affection – out today!
They are also about hit the road with an epic new live show that’s set to reinforce the band’s place in the upper echelons of Reggae-dom.
Formed in 2004 by brothers Rob, Sione and Charlie Pome, Three Houses Down are now one of New Zealand’s most respected acts on the international stage, forging a path across the globe with their infectious blend of roots, rock and reggae, with a hint of classical sensibility.
As Three Houses Down’s sound and following has grown and developed, so too has the band itself, with 10-year-old General Fiyah (Nicholas Pome) stepping up to the mic on their upcoming single, Love and Affection – a surefire summer anthem.
Sione says: “Three Houses Down was initially formed for one main reason, to keep the bond of the three brothers together. With this being said, our children grew up into the music. General Fiyah (Rob’s son) is the oldest grandchild and our father would teach him how to sing and he spent most of his free time taking him to piano lessons.”
The band soon realised that General Fiyah wasn’t just a great singer, he was composing his own original material. Charlie started worked with him on lyrics and at tune – it’s the song that we know today as ‘Love and Affection’.
In General Fiyah’s own words: “I wrote this song because I had a crush on this girl at school but she had no interest in me. I soon discovered that all I needed in this day and age is the love of my family and I wanted to make clear, especially to those that have been there for me since day one – like Grandpa – that I wanted to be there for them, just as they are there for me.”
