Indie provocateurs Trepidations return with their latest single, 101, a hauntingly nostalgic track that dives headfirst into the friction between utopian dreams and digital dominion. Blending vintage AI visuals with raw, analog-inspired soundscapes, 101 captures the eerie beauty of a world caught between progress and primal instinct.
The song’s release is accompanied by a striking video featuring early computer-generated footage – once viral, now vintage – reimagined to reflect the track’s themes of control, resistance, and the human condition under the influence of our “New Masters.”
“…I saw the original computer-created footage of a Famous Star seemingly – yet not really – masticating pasta released on the Internet when it first came out all those years ago.
I found and utilised the source – Face Hugger (seemingly now defunct) to produce this vignette, typing in several prompts over that weekend – resulting in the Vintage “A.I” footage featured in the video for 101.
This footage remains “Of Its Time” – seeing how far All Things have advanced from those days, but still seems fitting – as its song’s inspiration and recording are also sounds that are slightly removed from current times…”
