New Zealand electronic artist Vanessa Tottle releases for NZ Music Month her most emotionally expansive release yet.
Her new single Earthside, arriving today 15 May 2026, is a deeply personal sonic journey about survival, healing, and learning to trust the future version of yourself.
The track is 11 mins 16 seconds and due to that most likely won’t see radio play or play-listing.
This cannot be edited – doing so wouldn’t pay the respect the song deserves therefore Vanessa hopes that people will listen regardless – feel her story and connect to it!
Written as a conversation between past and present selves, Earthside explores the fragile moment where someone feels like they may not want to continue living – and the quiet belief that a stronger version of themselves is waiting on the other side.
The track unfolds slowly and introspectively, which then transforms halfway through into a pulsing dance section – a deliberate shift that mirrors the emotional movement from darkness toward life.
“In my mind, the song is me meeting my younger self,” says Vanessa. “She doesn’t know yet that she survives everything. The now version of me comes back to take care of her.”
