Village Live Records presents: Drosan – Debut LP

Village Live Records is happy to announce the release of Drosan’s debut self-titled LP, which is out now on all streaming platforms. This genre-blending 9-track album weaves through modern-day jazz and jazz-fusion, infused with elements of hip-hop and the spirit of 70’s experimental fusion.
The New Zealand-based duo take inspiration from iconic artists like Chick Corea, Charly Garcia, Astor Piazzolla and Luis Alberto Spinetta, alongside modern trailblazers such as Yussef Dayes, Ezra Collective, and Kamaal Williams.
This is not just Drosan’s debut album, it is a letter of presentation. This collection of original compositions invites listeners to experience how the band experiments with textures, sounds, and rhythm. Born from improvisation and shaped by decisionism, each track showcases how Drosan tells a story without lyrics, transforming raw energy into instrumental expression.
Drosan is Federico Daconti on keys and Pablo Cordoba on drums, two musicians originally from Argentina, now making waves in the jazz scene of Tauranga, New Zealand. The combination of Federico’s harmonic intuition and Pablo’s unique rhythmic expression makes Drosan a sonic experience that resonates with elements of neo-jazz, soul, and trip-hop. While Fede and Pablo form the creative core, Drosan expands into a collective, collaborating with different musicians to shape their distinctive sound.
