Displeasure is an industrial punk three-piece playing a hybrid of anarcho-punk and digital hardcore from Whanganui/Te-Whanganui-a-Tara. The band started as the electronic side-project of long-running Pōneke punk band Unsanitary Napkin, but has taken on an active life of its own, touring in Japan, Taiwan, so-called Australia, and Aotearoa in the last 24 months.

Buzz-saw guitars and scathing political vocals are propelled by heavy synth-bass and hyperactive live electro-acoustic drums. Combining elements of hardcore punk, industrial gabber, d-beat, and new wave, Displeasure draws from the likes of DAF, Crass, Ministry and Devo, with a dose of Mortal Kombat soundtrack.

Annihilation/Billionaire Death Drive is the second album from the trio, expressing an even greater sense of urgency about the fragile state of our planet, and a greater sense of fury towards the depraved hypercapitalist sadists ruling over us and their pathetic colonial space-fantasies.

Annihilation/Billionaire Death Drive was produced in collaboration with the epically talented Alphabethead. The two acts are touring Aotearoa together throughout December. The album is released by Pōneke’s Limbless Records.
