Clouds Are Alive is the excellent debut solo album by Jeremy Redmore, the acclaimed frontman of Midnight Youth.
Jeremy has produced a wonderful collection of songs that sound so sweet and soulful, the whole album is easy on the ears and charming in a youthful way, any song would seamlessly slot onto any popular radio playlist around the world.
The album opens with Bad Philosophy, a bright pop song with Jeremy’s crisp vocals and catchy harmonies, understandably the song was a radio hit when released early in 2014. Jeremy’s sound can be compared to Bruno Mars but thankfully more down to earth and Kiwi in approach.
Jeremy has pieced together a range of musical genres to keep you entertained, from the folk rhythmic tunes All I Ever Wanted, Travellin’ Song and One Plus One which was impossible not to sing-along to, and sweet ballads Drag Me On Home, So Easy and She. Jeremy hasn’t forgotten his rock roots with the sparkling One Day Alone and Run Run. The song Waimarino is a superb recording from a live take at Roundhead Studios, with stirring melodies and harmonies, inspired by his family’s annual trips there.
Clouds Are Alive shows the breadth of Jeremy’s talent and desire, it’s an enjoyable album, and highly recommended.
