Frontier are a passionate and energetic Pop Punk and Easycore four piece band from Christchurch, New Zealand. Their new release, Star Walkin’, is driven by a huge intro that quickly moves into what we would expect from Pop/Punk, this song rocks. A cover of Lil Nas X song Star Walk-in, it is as far away removed as you could imagine, and that’s not a thing. This has all the energy you would expect from three 500ml cans of Red Bull in less than a minute with powerful guitars, heavy drums and strong melodic and emotive vocals.
The chorus is one of strongest moments of the song, and by the time you hear the second one you get thrown into a rap like verse with some throw down style breakdowns, heavy vocals and angst that makes you want to throw down in the pit.
I can only imagine a lot of Lil Nas X fans finding this cover and actually having a great time enjoying it. With the power pop octave lead lines, string arrangement and crisp clean driven guitar picking sound in the intro and the bridge, the song has a lot going for it. An absolute banger from start to finish!
