Single Review: Victim of Reality

Kicking off with a searing hot lead guitar riff which instantly grabs your attention, more guitars then rip in with the drums and bass, leaving you in no doubt that you’re about to be delivered to heavy guitar rock heaven, courtesy of Poison Skies!

Nick Wilkinson’s vocals are clean and powerful, you can hear the air going in his lungs and returning with cool reverberations attached, the whole song is loaded with great tuneful backing vocals and harmonies that add colour and character. Surprisingly the drums are not overbearing, they actually sound like real drums… not sampled or put through a processor with gated white noise sound effects.

The song rips along at a great pace, with a cool break that relents just a little bit before we’re picked up again and delivered to a short but scorching lead solo and final round of choruses. Performed live at full throttle, this song will blow the roof off, and tonight I’m off to see Poison Skies live. Victim of Reality is one track that I’m definitely looking forward to!
