Single/Video Review: Love Song 4 Lucy

Sometimes we need a distraction, and a reminder of the basic core reasons as to why we exist.

Sometimes, perhaps now more than ever, we need to be reminded of the simple joy that comes with being who we are and of the love that we share with other people. Love Song 4 Lucy not only serves as a reminder of this, but it also provides a much needed distraction from our current lockdown lives.

Art doesn’t mimic life, it is just as much a part of life as is joy, happiness, hope, and of course love.

I appreciate Captain Festus‘ art and the delight he shares through his music and performance. Given his persona, I am sure his music would be enjoyed by young and old alike.

In Love Song 4 Lucy, he has focused his attention towards his wife Lucy. It’s a simple tune full of humour, heart and soul.

The accompanying video and documentary roll along in a similar vein with Lucy being the focus of attention as the Captain successfully captures her essence in portrait and art.

Captain Festus clearly has no problem sharing his love for life, art and music. Love Song 4 Lucy also makes it obvious that he wants to tell the entire world about his love for Lucy, so what’s not to like?

This song and video made me smile. It made me think of family and forget about all the other noise, and I’m sure it will do the same for you too.
