The Bleeders played @ The Globe in Palmerston North on Thursday the 20th of April 2006 as part of their tour for their new album ‘As Sweet As Sin’.
The room darkened and the crowd chanted out their name. Anticipation ran high. This was the band that everyone had been waiting for and it was definitely worth the wait.
Lead by the best person for the job, Angelo, The Bleeders pulled the crowds towards the stage like some sort of gravitational force and they kept everyone’s eyes magnitised towards the stage throughout their entire set. You could feel their determination and passion in all of their songs and it is this determination and passion that has turned The Bleeders into what they are today. This is one band that is sure to go far, and not just with NZ music. Their do-it-yourself attitude has already seen them achieve so much, including being signed to a major record label.
In the wings of the stage during The Bleeders set stood members from the previous bands who, like the audience, were completley mesmerised by what they saw. The Bleeders are so talented that their music sends shivers down your spine.
When their A Bleeding Heart EP came out, Punkas.com noted The Bleeders as “bristling with potential”. After seeing them perform live it is obvious that they have now realised their potential and they are using it to their advantage.
Best Bleeders song of the night: Out Of Time will always be a favourite of mine and it was awesome to finally see it performed live, however Nightmares was the best Bleeders song of the night.

About the author Lisa Jones

I’m Lisa, Muzic.NZ’s founder and manager. I also manage the Aotearoa Music Industry Collective as well as the Aotearoa Rock Community and the Gig Space Facebook groups. Born and raised in New Plymouth, and now based in Palmerston North – I’m married to Adam (our IT guy), and together we have 2 amazing children. Rock is my favourite genre of music, but I enjoy a huge variety of genres from old school hip-hop through to metal, punk, pop, folk and EDM. My advice to NZ musicians is to build yourself a great support network, never be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and talk to other people involved in the music industry. And don’t give up.. as long as you love what you are doing, don’t stop doing it. If you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything. — MUZIC.NZ (MNZ) WEB: https://www.muzic.nz/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/muzicnetnz IG: https://www.instagram.com/muzicnz/ YT:
