Dallas Harvey Releases New Single ‘Patience’

Auckland City’s up and coming hip-hop artist Dallas Harvey is a breath of fresh air and honest lyricism, piecing his life together through story-telling and music. Mentored by the likes of Church from Church & AP, Chris RL and Melodownz, Dallas has built a well-versed understanding of self throughout his development at Te Karanga Navigators songwriting and production sessions.

Produced collaboratively between SSU.SSU and Dallas Harvey, this record showcases his authentic lyricism and an original sample chop production style, carrying the wisdom, gratitude and pain that Dallas Harvey’s life was built upon. Dallas speaks upon his struggles and experiences throughout his childhood, and how it relates to his values being in the present.

Previously building a catalogue of SoundCloud demos under the alter ego ‘sallad’, Dallas transitioned into 2021 by releasing his first debut single Open Wound featured on 95bFM and BaseFM. Speaking on heavy but honest topics such as loss and grief, Dallas Harvey is en route to set in stone his emotional words through rap and hip-hop, ignoring the norms and breaking the typical structure found already found in NZ music, ultimately in pursuit of being his authentic self.
