Livi Mulholland & Joseph Van Der Hurk Southern Excursion Tour

Amazing Enterprises is proud to announce its second Southern Excursion mini-tour featuring Auckland singer-songwriter Livi Mulholland and Dunedin Indie-Folk Musician Joseph van der Hurk, with shows in Queenstown, Wanaka, and Dunedin this Spring.

Livi and Joseph will be performing alongside friends Lara Rose and Jarni Blair for a show at Taste Merchants with guest MC Feather Unsure on Saturday the 5th of September, cover charge of $10 applies. Doors open at 8pm, with the first act kicking off at 8.30.

Livi Mulholland is an Auckland based singer/songwriter, who recorded her first studio track at the age of 10, and is still going at age 20. Livi completed her first studio EP last year (July, 2014) and since then she has performed the 6 track record across Auckland, performed on a cruise boat in Amsterdam and even on a ship that sailed to the High Arctic, in Svalbard.

Roads sold internationally on iTunes, throughout countries such as Australia, Scotland and Canada. Livi’s single ‘Hands Shake’ made it’s way into the top 50 of the prestigious Vanda and Young Songwriting competition, making it over 3500 entries, 2000 different artists and across 17 countries.

Livi is known for her smooth melodies and open guitar sounds, that produce an ambient and soothing vibe throughout any venue. Inspiration that is present in her style of music has been gathered from other soul-settling artists such as Matt Corby and Lydia Cole.

Graduating from a Certificate in Contemporary Music Performance, playing gigs in bunkers in the side of mountains, performing weekly in regular restaurants and bars, to singing on national television, Good Morning, there is a developed ease to Livi’s live performances.

2015 and Livi is slightly edging away from her slower music, teaming up with Awa Reeder (Nesian Mystik) to produce her 2nd Studio record, whilst remaining true to her soft and ambient style.

Joseph van der Hurk is a Dunedin born folk and indie pop musician who has toured extensively throughout New Zealand and released several studio recordings with his former band Falconets.

Described by dunedinmusic.com as “A guitarist of the upmost fluency” he delivers melancholic, delicate picking and hearty strumming seamlessly with equal generosity, accompanied by a voice MusicNation appraised as “distinctively Unique” with ‘tone similar to that of English singer-songwriters Jake Bugg & King Charles.”

With a raft of new solo material and a strong back catalogue of tunes composed with Falconets he is currently recording a new album and preparing to tour abroad. His songs carry influences from Mumford and Sons, Angus and Julia Stone, Ben Howard and Bob Dylan and are weighted with a depth of honesty and adventurous intensity.
