Ash Sales Releases New Single ‘State of Life’

Looping artist Ash Sales has just released his new single State of Life, a gritty, instrumental track created entirely with acoustic guitar, live loops, and effects.
The song moves through three distinct phases. Calm, turbulence, and release, echoing the unpredictable rhythm of life. It’s punchy and energetic, yet holds a deep emotional current. No lyrics, just melody and movement carrying the weight of the story.
“State of Life is about the flow of life itself,” says Ash. “It’s not always smooth. There are ups, downs, detours, and chaos, but every part of it shapes us. Even the mess grows us. Nothing’s wasted. It all adds to who we become.”
The raw black and white cover art, set against a graffiti covered backdrop, mirrors the feel of the track. Honest, unfiltered, and full of contrast.
State of Life marks a clear progression from the more cinematic and spacious feel of Ash’s debut album Reflections (released January 2025), stepping into a sound that’s more rhythmic, gritty, and emotionally charged.
The track was recorded by James Rochester at Paisley Stage Studio in Napier, mixed by Ash himself, and mastered by Down Beat Mastering.
To celebrate the release, Ash will perform two live shows:
– Napier – 7 August
– Gisborne – 8 August
Ash builds every set live using acoustic guitar, pedals, loops, and 432Hz tuning, creating performances that are raw, real, and constantly evolving.
