Ash Sales Slows Things Down with New Instrumental Single ‘Earthling’

Ash Sales is taking a different direction with his latest instrumental release, Earthling.
Known for his cinematic guitar looping and trance inspired sound, Earthling trades driving rhythms for stillness, creating an ambient meditation track designed to help listeners slow down, breathe and reconnect. Built around acoustic guitar, lush strings, atmospheric synths and soft vocal textures, it’s music that creates space and invites deep listening.
While Earthling feels more peaceful than Ash’s previous releases, it still carries the unmistakable Ash Sales sound. The expansive reverbs, layered textures, expressive guitar work and immersive production are all there. Rather than stepping away from his style, Ash has simply shifted the intention. Instead of taking listeners on an energetic, cinematic journey, Earthling offers a slower, calmer experience for the nervous system while still encouraging the deep emotional connection his music has always been known for.
The track is recorded in 444 Hz and experiments with frequency relationships by using 528 Hz as the third note. Ash has long been fascinated by the connection between music, frequency and wellbeing. Several studies have explored the effects of 528 Hz, with research reporting reductions in cortisol and anxiety, increases in oxytocin and positive effects on the nervous system. Animal research has also found that exposure to 528 Hz was associated with increased testosterone production in the brain, reduced oxidative stress and lower anxiety related behaviours. These studies helped inspire the intention behind Earthling and its calming, restorative sound.
“My music has always been about helping people feel something deeply,” says Ash. “That hasn’t changed. Earthling just expresses it in a different way. It’s slower, gentler and more spacious. Instead of lifting your energy, I wanted to create something that helps settle your nervous system and gives you permission to simply slow down.”
Earthling is the first glimpse into a new instrumental EP arriving later this year. While it explores a more meditative direction, it remains unmistakably Ash Sales, continuing his passion for creating immersive instrumental music with intention, emotion and a deep appreciation for the power of sound.
