MNZ Interview: The AUX Return 018: Dónal Gunning and The Bucks
Dónal Gunning

In this The AUX Return episode, featuring Irish musician Dónal Gunning, is a tangential, rambling conversation about emigrating, playing and living with fellow musicians and finding the balance between solo performances and playing in a band.
Dónal’s band, Dónal Gunning and The Bucks, have just released their first EP, Zero Bucks Given to rave reviews and a national tour. Along with videos and wild shows, he’s not stopping there, as the band is set to begin recording a full album while still playing regular shows.
Dónal chats about how he got into the music life, why he was ‘Born to Perform’ and the uncertain life of musicians in both cover bands, a band playing originals and doing solo shows. Here, we get an insight into the blend of rock, folk, blues and heavy metal that have informed the sound we now know of as Dónal Gunning and The Bucks.
