Ch! Nonso unveils music video for ‘My Own’
AfroSoul artist Ch! Nonso releases the official music video for My Own, a bass led, mid tempo groove that bridges Nigerian Pidgin, Igbo, and the fluid rhythms of modern Afrobeats. Supported by NZ On Air, the single and visuals offer the first glimpse of his forthcoming 2026 album.
Directed by Devan Narsai, the video gives form to the song’s central idea: an intimate dialogue between two halves of the self, the extrovert and the introvert; the anima and animus; yin and yang. The visuals mirror the track’s calm momentum and warm harmonies, inviting viewers into a reflective, uplifting space.

Adding to the momentum, Ch! Nonso has been announced as a Top 5 finalist in this year’s APRA Silver Scroll Awards alongside long-time collaborator Mazbou Q for their track Torque. Featured on Mazbou Q’s album Rap Science, the song samples Ch! Nonso’s single Ka Home from his debut EP Kola Nuts & Chardonnay. The nomination marks Ch! Nonso’s first major recognition as a songwriter.
