Laeky Unveils New Track ‘caller waiting’
Singer-songwriter Laeky’s new track caller waiting is indie-pop at its highest quality and most heartfelt. An exploration of the parallels of everybody’s human experience – this track builds acoustic instrumentation around feelings of isolation that dance into the realisation that there is a sameness in everything we feel vulnerable about.
“I think the most naked you can ever be is when you’re sharing those tucked away secrets with someone else who is bearing witness to the thing you need to get off your chest. I feel the most naked when I’m doing just that. Talking about the things that we go through is so healing and important to do. Being vulnerable has saved my life. This song opens the door to that,” Laeky explains.
What started as two separate songs, caller waiting courses emotional troughs and relief while keeping a tempo to dance it all out. If the verses are as confessional as a voicemail, the chorus is certainly as catchy as the ringtone that you should probably (definitely) answer.
With charmingly candid lyricism combating fears of being ‘too much’ or ‘too deep’ or ‘ruining the vibe,’ Laeky shares how she’s “lived so much of my life in fear of these things, when really all I needed to do was to get ‘naked’ – be vulnerable, let someone in.”
