Aptly, as we head into the weekend, Tāmaki Makaurau dream-pop quartet Echomatica have just released their latest single and video, Month of Sundays, hot on the heels of their critically-acclaimed debut self-titled album.

Month of Sundays blends layers of guitar with indietronica, bringing a summer vibe and an infectious swagger. The song fuses Echomatica’s signature retro sensibilities with an easy upbeat energy that shows a new side to their indie credentials. An irrepressibly feel-good hit waiting to happen!

As an up and coming band, Echomatica have arrived with accomplished songcraft and a well-defined sound,  and and established themselves as a band of genuine promise.

Month  of Sundays is already picking up airplay from the album, and follows their debut single Love Isn’t Always and its follow-up Something, both of which struck a chord with alternative radio fans.

(Love Isn’t Always – 95bFM Top 10 No.1, RDU Top 10 No.7, SRN Top 10 No.2, Radioscope Alt Chart No.11;
‘Something’ – 95bFM No.2, RadioScope Alt chart No.2, SRN Top 10 No.9)

Emerging from Auckland’s thriving indie scene, Echomatica craft atmospheric soundscapes that fuse elements of alt-rock, dream pop, trip hop and shoegaze into something uniquely their own.

Drawing inspiration from artists such as Portishead, Joy Division, Garbage, The Cure and Beach House, Echomatica channel classic songwriting sensibilities through a modern lens, with a strong focus on melody and mood. Their music balances grit with intimacy, creating songs that feel both widescreen and personal.

Echomatica’s debut album, also titled Echomatica, was released last Friday October 10th to great reviews.
