New Zealand indie-pop artist Samantha Jane unveils ‘Threadbare’
Samantha Jane’s Threadbare, released today, November 13 2025, blends shimmering synth-pop and steel guitar with lyrics stitched with sewing metaphors, reflecting both the fraying of a relationship and the delicate art of mending it.
On another level, the lyrics explore her relationship with OCD and how this disorder used to cause her to throw good things away, but now she’s healing and learning to lovingly repair and hold onto them. The track sparkles with whimsy and fun, yet carries a subtle tinge of heartbreak.
Threadbare captures the universal tension of holding on while knowing it might be time to let go, told through Samantha’s signature mix of devastatingly honest and playfully imaginative storytelling.
Samantha Jane is an emerging artist with two previous singles, Alaska and Narcissus, under her belt. With Threadbare, she continues to explore love, loss, and the messiness of human emotion in an intimate, relatable way.
