Support Acts Announced for Hori Shaw and Te Wehi’s New Years Show

Today, support acts for Hori Shaw and Te Wehi’s massive co-headline show at the iconic Coroglen Tavern have been announced as Norzin, Zentarge and Ngati Parti. The show, going down on Thursday 1 January 2026, will celebrate the New Year with the sound of Aotearoa, reggae, good vibes, and is the perfect way to kick off summer.
Born in the far northern reaches of Aotearoa, Norizin is a five-piece collective redefining the sound of Te Hiku with a fearless, genre-bending approach. Made up of Hohua Clark on lead vocals, Evan Ashley on Guitar and backing vocals, Moko Kena on bass and backing vocals, Billy Davis on drums and Evan’s brother, Derek Ashley as DJ, sampler, backing vocals and the band’s manager. Their music is a powerful fusion of heavy-hitting beats, punchy punk-rock riffs, infectious hip-hop flows, and the deepest, darkest reggae drops – elevated by the melodic strength of te reo Māori. Self-made and self-produced, Norizin operates under their own independent label. The band’s founding brothers oversee every stage of creation – crafting, recording, mixing, and mastering each track to deliver a sound that is raw, rugged, and unmistakably born of the Far North. More than a band, Norizin is a movement: a surge of mana, identity, and unfiltered homegrown energy that continues to push the boundaries of contemporary Aotearoa music.
Waikato-born sibling duo Zentarge – Zenith and Targe Tawhara-Crown – bring a rich blend of soulful vocals, tight harmonies, and authentic live energy shaped by a childhood immersed in old-school Motown, reggae classics, and family guitar parties. Their sound carries the warmth of their musical upbringing, resonating with audiences of all ages. From early days busking to performing alongside respected friends and whānau on stage, Zentarge have evolved into a sought-after covers act known for their nostalgic, heartfelt performances. Now stepping confidently into their next chapter, the duo are channeling their artistry into their debut original album, slated for release in 2026. This New Year’s Day, Zentarge deliver high-energy, summer-infused favourites as they set the stage for Hori Shaw and Te Wehi—bringing feel-good vibes, powerful harmonies, and plenty of aroha to ignite an unforgettable start to the year.
Ngati Parti is an emerging artist from the East Coast of Aotearoa’s North Island. Their debut single Time of Your Life charted on release and introduced their honest, grounded style of storytelling. Drawing from real experiences and East Coast upbringing, Ngati Parti’s music is straightforward, relatable, and built on substance over hype. With new music on the way, they’re establishing themselves as a fresh voice with a clear point of view.
