Tattoo For You marks the beginning of a long-overdue unearthing of grief following the passing of a beloved mother-in-law, whose name is now permanently inked on the artist’s skin. The song explores the weight of loss that was carried quietly for too long, finally given voice through music.

At its core, Tattoo For You is about remembrance – and the way tattoos serve as living memorials. Names, faces, words, and symbols etched into skin become companions we carry every second of every day: tributes to people, places, and memories that shaped us. For anyone who wears their story in ink, this song will resonate deeply.

“The needle goes in, the skin is wiped throughout the process leaving you feeling raw, and the process repeats – over and over. Just like grief.” The single’s artwork is intentionally bold and dark, mirroring the emotional landscape of the song. The needle symbolizes an everlasting pain – relentless and inescapable – while the black glove represents grief itself: a darkness that grips tightly, forcing the pain deeper until it becomes overwhelming, until all you want to do is scream.

What the artwork doesn’t show, however, is what comes after – the burning, the care, the slow and deliberate healing. Much like grief, the most difficult parts happen away from view. People see the healed tattoo, not the pain it took to get there. And often, they see the healed person, without ever knowing what it cost.

“If you’ve ever carried grief in silence, this song is for you,” Vanessa shares. “I just want to finally express how I’ve been feeling – and if it can help even one person feel less alone in their pain, that would mean everything.”

Tattoo For You is now available for pre-save, ahead of its release on 20 February 2026. Listeners are encouraged to pass the song along to someone who needs to feel understood and seen.
