The Spectator is the lead single to missrosevalentina’s upcoming EP, which fits in a unique space of bass-heavy electro-pop, whilst emulating NZ’s classic rock sound and pointed-tongue-in-cheek lyricism.

The Spectator is best personified as something that’s always in proximity, yearning for attention. Inspired by the gothic soul of my new home, residing in Otautahi and revisiting Lady Gaga’s Born This Way LP.

missrosevalentina is a trans-glam provocateur and sonic visionary, inspired by icons like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Jade. Formerly New Zealand’s campy-pop superstar Hybrid Rose, she remains an underground princess at heart, now residing in Otautahi, where she explores adventurous waves of atmospheric pop infused with the city’s gothic-revival soul.
