Christchurch-born, Sydney-based alternative artist Narakel returns with Where Did Everybody Go? today 8 April, a minimal, atmospheric single that leans into tension, absence, and the feeling that something isn’t quite right. Positioned with quiet exclusivity, the release marks the start of a new era where less is said, but far more is felt.

Where Did Everybody Go? is your first encounter with desolation the fuel of empty romances, reckless choices, and fleeting friendships. I want listeners to feel the city, the nightlife, and the intensity of human experience through my eyes,”Narakel explains.

Built around a deliberate sense of unease, the track reflects nights that blur into one another, where connection feels temporary and meaning slips further out of reach — the after-the-party feeling when reality quietly settles in.

Born in Christchurch, New Zealand, and now based in Sydney, Narakel is an alternative, genre-bending artist blending cultural identity with raw lived experience. His growing presence includes placements on FBI Radio, Triple J Unearthed, and CADA 96.1, alongside performances at Oxford Art Factory, Parramatta Lanes, Fairfield Showground, and The Burdekin Hotel.

“Essentially, I sound like how I’ve lived. My music reflects the highs, lows, and shadows of youth through a lens of raw emotion and lived experience,” Narakel adds.

Where Did Everybody Go? marks the first chapter in a broader EP release, continuing Narakel’s exploration of identity, detachment, and the spaces in between.
