Adam Tukiri Announces New Project ‘Did I Hurt Somebody?’

Aotearoa hip hop artist Adam Tukiri returns with his most personal body of work to date, the somber and reflective project Did I Hurt Somebody?, set for release on 13 February
2026. Rooted in his own style of production and storytelling, the record explores absence, reconciliation, and the quiet work of becoming better.
Written and produced at home, Did I Hurt Somebody? draws on the loss of friends and whānau, the complexities of co-parenting, and a deep love for family that refuses to give up. Over understated, intimate yet heavy production, Adam turns the lens on himself-questioning past decisions, repairing relationships, and learning how to be present.
“This project is my way of saying that everyone is either scary or hoha,” says Adam. “It’s about having my little empire that only I can flex, while showing that it didn’t come easy.”
Adam has built a steady reputation within the New Zealand music landscape, previously releasing music under the alias Dharmarat and cultivating a separate, successful creative
career. He recently featured on Troy Kingi’s album Troy Kingi Presents: Night Lords on the track Cold War, which serves as a spiritual prequel to Did I Hurt Somebody?
Blending isolated darkness with a warmth that reflects his commitment to home and whānau, Did I Hurt Somebody? captures an artist learning to live with his past while choosing a better future and version of himself. It is hip hop at its most human-unpolished, vulnerable, and unmistakably from Aotearoa.
