Lucy Gray Releases ‘G-R-O-U-P-I-E’ Single + Music Video

G-R-O-U-P-I-E is just the second single off Lucy’s 2026 EP, but they’ve already planted themself strongly in the hyperpop and alternative pop scene. Lucy is a rising alternative-pop performer, producer, singer and songwriter based in Auckland, New Zealand whose social media has skyrocketed their music into international markets.
Now they’re teasing a drop of a bigger project of which G-R-O-U-P-I-E is one of the singles from. G-R-O-U-P-I-E begins as a downtempo hyperpop and electronic inspired song, and drives into a full blown club banger with a fresh analog jersey influence.
Releasing their first song in 2022, Lucy’s sound has continued to shift from indie to pop-rock and now into indie-electronic and hyperpop. Their music is inspired by the likes of Oklou, Tiffany Day, underscores, Jane Remover and brakence.
2025 was a big year for Gray. They captured audiences around the world and have now grown their social media presence to over 100K, gained 500K streams, played at Rhythm and Vines, supported Esha Tewari in Auckland, Keli Holiday in Christchurch and Them & I on his debut Australia tour. They also performed at Ones to Watch, launched a Vinyl collaboration and headlined The Tuning Fork.
G-R-O-U-P-I-E will be accompanied by a music video by Connor Pritchard supported by NZ on Air. The next single from Lucy Gray’s project is projected to be released in late May.
