Sunday’s special highlight was Bach Musica NZ’s Concert 1 of the 2026 season at the Auckland Town Hall. This was their Easter Oratoria which mixed traditional and modern, J. S. Bach’s ‘Easter Oratorio BWV249’ and the NZ premiere of Reena Esmail’s ‘The Love Between Us: Prayers for Unity’.

Guest conductor was Jono Palmer with guest musicians; Alanah Jones (Soprano), Daljeet Kaur (Alto), Jack Doyle (Countertenor), Iain Tetley (Tenor), Blake Scanlan (Baritone), Manjit Singh (Tabla) and Shalu Garg (Sitar)
