MOHI’s Double Single Release Out Now

MOHI is coming at you with a double release that celebrates the artist’s striking return to songwriting earlier this year. In the midst of connecting with collaborator, Noema Te Hau III, the pair began creating the greatest Māori Alt R&B to come out of Aotearoa: MOHI’s upcoming album, Māori Kid Meets World.
The lead single Tia sets the scene by capturing the highs of life as a young uni student. In particular, the experience of finding love at the greatest university establishment in Aotearoa, Shadows Bar. Dedicated to the highest degree, this track shows you heartfelt at its most vibey, and it’s most honest. Confident chord progressions and soulful vocals showcase a love that’s set to be as longwithstanding as Shads itself.
Damn Sh*t is the second single off his latest project – a bilingual masterpiece that speaks to Mohi’s colourful life experiences and rising and growing into the person he is today. Electric instrumentation courses a grittier channel on this kōrero, producing a candid overturning of the stones of Mohi’s past to face the sun.
Tia and Damn Sh*t continue to weave the rich tapestry of MOHI’s artistry, a sound grounded in his indigenous cultural heritage that paints a constant reflection of the strength and beauty of his whakapapa (ancestry). Since launching his solo career in 2020, he has quickly risen to become a household name – resonating throughout Aotearoa and increasingly on the global stage.
