Madeline.’s Pride is Triumphant on Upcoming Single ‘Just Like Jesus’

On July 3rd 2026, London-based New Zealand songstress Madeline. will return with her latest track Just Like Jesus. This will be the first in a series of singles from her upcoming EP Body which is set for release in this year’s final quarter.
After a creative hiatus, Just Like Jesus ushers in a new era for Madeline. where we see her in full command of her artistry and vulnerability. The track is a reflection on Queer Joy and navigating dating as a queer woman. The title pulls from her Catholic schooling; embracing the idea that, just like Jesus, Bi+ people love everybody.
The song begins with choral harmonies accompanied by a hard hitting synth beat and a sample of a speech given by Lady Gaga in 2012 (another inspiration for the song’s title). From here, it builds to a joyfully energetic club anthem, designed to make you throw your arms around the people you love and dance until you can’t see straight.
The song was written by Madeline. and produced by Jonny Avery; recorded in West London in 2025. Reflecting on the track, Madeline. says “This is a song I was waiting to write for 15 years. After watching Gaga’s HBO Monster Ball Tour special as a 15 year old, the title and the song’s overall theme always lived in the back of my mind. Even then, I knew that I was Queer, but I think I needed to live more life and come into my power a little more before I could really give birth to it. I also think it came back to me at the perfect time. A time where I really understand who I am as an artist, and as a human. I am finally making the music I have always wanted to make- I just don’t think I have been ready until now.”
She adds “I really love the idea that just like Jesus, we, as Queer people, love everybody. That has also always been my experience with the LGBTQ+ community in general. It was a community that has welcomed me my whole life; long before I was open about my own sexuality. I think it’s also poignant that the name of a person that certain demographics use to persecute us, is used to celebrate the existence of Queer people.”
Madeline.’s unwavering passion for music shines through in every note, reflecting her dedication to her craft and her commitment to creating music that resonates with listeners. Drawing inspiration from her own experiences and emotions, she delivers a performance that is both authentic and energetic.
The song will be followed by the release of a music video, produced by Madeline. and the creative collective she has founded with her friends in London called ‘Made In Haus.’
