Known for blending lush synth-pop and smooth electronic rhythms, Moon Age (Matt Hanson and Bryn Shipperlee) approached the remix with one goal: preserve the emotional weight of Lace Mine’s vocal while building an entirely new sonic landscape around it.

“We wanted to create a more danceable world that felt worthy of Lace Mine’s vocal,” Bryn says. “That meant stepping outside our usual sound, while still leaving our fingerprint on the production.”

Rather than overwhelming the original, Moon Age let the song breathe. Pulsing synths, layered textures and restrained percussion reshape Haunt, creating a version that feels equally at home on late-night headphones and electronic playlists.

Originally appearing on Lace Mine’s debut EP Body, Haunt explored memory and emotional aftermath through sparse piano and intimate songwriting. Moon Age retain that emotional core while opening the song into something more expansive and transportive. “I was really curious to hear where they’d take it,” Lace Mine says. “I love the world they built around the song.”

Bryn says the remix came together quickly after defining its electronica/cinematic world. “We had one of those rare moments in music making, where every colour we threw at the canvas seemed to stick.”

The collaboration grew naturally through Moon Age and Lace Mine’s shared London-based label, goodtwin. Created between the UK and New Zealand, the remix evolved through voice notes and ideas sent back and forth across time zones. The track’s accompanying visualiser also drops today.

The remix continues Moon Age’s run of atmospheric releases, showcasing the duo’s ability to bridge cinematic production with infectious rhythmic momentum. Formed in 2024, Moon Age have quickly established a signature sound. The project made waves with the release of their 2024 debut single “Lie to Me”, a sleek fusion of vocals and groove-heavy basslines.

Amassing more than 500k streams on Spotify in a matter of months, the pair show no signs of slowing down.
