MxDicey releases their debut single Sinister Vibe on July 25, marking the arrival of a distinctive new voice in Aotearoa’s independent music landscape. A pioneering fusion of alternative synthpop, R&B, house, pop, break-beat, and soca, Sinister Vibe serves as the public’s first taste of MxDicey’s expansive production style and genre fluid creative vision. The Halloween-tinged single draws inspiration from a fascination with true crime podcasts. Adding a deeply personal layer to
the production, Sinister Vibe features Trinidadian steel pan performed by MxDicey’s own father, fusing electronic experimentation with heritage driven instrumentation. Sinister Vibe is a compelling first statement from the writer-producer performer, carving out a fresh lane in contemporary music, and setting the tone for an exciting artistic trajectory.

To celebrate, MxDicey headlines a special launch party at the iconic Ding Dong Lounge, supported by spontaneous live looping from Larsen James, the experimental club productions of gitanjali, the soulful lyricism of Amelia Kae-Ryder, and the
