The World Is Against You Release New Single ‘Skyrim III’

Welly shoegaze 5-piece The World Is Against You (TWIAY) today provide their fourth single Skyrim III and first look into their upcoming album, Patron Saint. The single is a brave move forward for the band, exploring more experimental territory beyond Alt rock elements of past efforts, welcoming melodic songwriting, abrasive noise and Shoegaze Rock influences.
Skyrim III is based on the idea of diverting personal responsibility, exploring the inclination to blame others rather than addressing one’s own flaws. The song is a study of the tug of war between remorse and self-preservation, wrapped in contemplative language and massive guitars,
Skyrim III is the opening for Patron Saint and heralds a new age for The World Is Against You. The band’s forthcoming album finds them pushing into more adventurous terrain than ever before, while remaining rooted in walls of distortion and emotional intensity and expanding their musical palette.
Skyrim III was recorded at Massey University and mixed and mastered by Thomas Waddington and released Via Glasshead Records.
Following the release of Patron Saint, The World Is Against You will embark on an Australian and New Zealand tour in late October/ early November in support of Patron Saint. Previous releases from the band have received editorial playlist support across major digital streaming platforms, helping establish the Wellington group as one of New Zealand’s emerging voices within the country’s shoegaze and alternative underground.
Skyrim III is now available on all major streaming platforms.
