Devilskin ‘Be Like The River’ 10th Anniversary Tour Kicks Off This Friday

One of Aotearoa’s most iconic albums returns to the stage this week as Devilskin kick off their Be Like The River 10th Anniversary Tour this Friday, celebrating the Gold-certified, #1 album that assured the band as one of Aotearoa’s biggest metal rock acts.

Kicking off at Christchurch’s Town Hall this Friday 24 July, the band will go on to play Dunedin’s Union Hall on Saturday 25 July, Tauranga’s Stadium Lounge on Friday 31 July, Hamilton’s BNZ Theatre on Saturday 1 August, Palmerston North’s Fly Palmy Arena on Friday 7 August and finish at Hasting’s Toitoi Opera House on Saturday 8 August.

They will also take to festival stages later this year, playing The Rock 2000 at Spark Arena, Auckland on Friday 25 September, and Amped Up, Brewtown, Wellington on Saturday 24 October.

Opening all six shows of the tour are The Boondocks, the hard-hitting two-piece from the rugged Āwhitu Peninsula south of Auckland who are no strangers to sharing a big stage, having previously opened for Shihad, Tadpole and Villainy.

Additionally, Devilskin have run a competition to give an emerging Aotearoa band the chance to share the stage before The Boondocks, opening each of six tour dates. Just announced is the Wānaka young guns Powder Chutes to open the Christchurch show and Ōtautahi rockers Pieces Of Molly in Dunedin.

Released in 2016, Be Like The River debuted at #1 on the Official New Zealand Albums Chart, earned Gold certification and won Devilskin Best Rock Artist at the 2017 Aotearoa Music Awards. Since its release, the band have gone on to collect multiple Aotearoa Music Awards, including People’s Choice Award in 2025.
