PRINS Kicks off A Bold New Era with ‘The Sequel’

The Sequel is out now, marking the beginning of a major new chapter for New Zealand pop artist PRINS.
Written in Los Angeles and produced by Adam Boukis, the dark pop track explores the tension between wanting something intensely and knowing it could come with consequences. It sits in that space between desire and anticipation, and the pull towards something you know might not be good for you, whether that’s a person, an ambition, a dream or something else entirely.
The track will also be accompanied by a new music video, filmed in Los Angeles and coming shortly, further introducing the visual world of this new era.
The Sequel is the first taste of Messy, Young & Able, PRINS’ upcoming five-track EP created in Los Angeles. The project explores ambition, desire, self-discovery and the freedom that comes with embracing imperfection, marking a more confident and personal direction for PRINS.
Rather than arriving all at once, the project will unfold over the coming months, with The Sequel kicking off a run of new music leading into the EP’s full release on 6 November. The EP itself will be officially announced on 26 August, with further singles arriving throughout September and October.
But this era isn’t just happening online.
Throughout November, PRINS will take Messy, Young & Able on the road across New Zealand in a custom pop-up truck, bringing the new project’s music and visual world directly to fans across the country.
That will lead into an international run of shows in Europe and the UK in October, followed by headline dates across Christchurch, Melbourne, Wellington and Auckland in November, including PRINS’ biggest Auckland headline show to date at Powerstation.
