Vanessa Tottle Captures Late-Night Longing in New Single ‘Invisible Rose’
Electronic producer and artist Vanessa Tottle is set to release her next single, Invisible Rose on 21st August, a cinematic, atmospheric track born from a moment of solitary inspiration, a signature cocktail, and the bittersweet ache of distance.

The story behind Invisible Rose is one of pure creative synchronicity. In 2024, while attending a music conference alone in Wellington, Vanessa found herself winding down at the eclectic Naumi Hotel. Sipping on a beautiful, locally crafted cocktail called the ‘Invisible Rose’, the lyrics – 8 hours away from you, sparked to life, written for her husband back home.
What makes the track entirely unique is its immersive, living texture. While sitting at the bar, Vanessa captured a field recording of the ambient hustle around her – including the distinct, rhythmic sound of a bartender shaking and pouring that very cocktail. When she returned to her studio in Tāmaki Makaurau, she produced those found sounds directly into the dark, moody fabric of the song, making the venue itself a living instrument in the arrangement.
The release of Invisible Rose on Friday, August 21, 2026, marks a flawless full-circle moment.
The night prior, on Thursday, August 20th, Vanessa will take the stage at Wellington’s iconic Moon Bar for a live performance. Tickets are available from UTR – local Trip Hop alt Rock band Tragedies will conclude the night at Moon with an amazing set.
Before the gig, she plans to return to the Naumi Hotel Bar where it all began to order the drink that started it all – and perhaps sneak the track onto the lounge playlist.
“There’s a beautiful serendipity to how this is playing out,” says Vanessa. “To perform in Wellington, walk back into the space that inspired the track two years ago, and celebrate the release with the exact cocktail that gave the song its name – it feels like the universe closing a perfect creative loop.”
With its minimalist, gritty electronic production, lush trip-hop undertones, and evocative storytelling, Invisible Rose bridges the gap between deep-cut underground electronic music and raw vulnerability of late-night drives, and anyone who has ever felt the pull of someone miles away.
