UB40 and Soul II Soul Announce Auckland Show

After a hugely successful Australia and NZ tour in 2024, UB40 are returning to Aotearoa for one show in 2027, bringing with them five decades of pioneering reggae music that has helped popularise the genre globally and become the soundtrack to generations of music fans’ lives.

Celebrating 50 years of music and entertainment, UB40 are highlighting this special milestone in New Zealand with The Unstoppable Tour and the hugely anticipated Unstoppable album campaign. Joined by British soul/R&B icons Soul II Soul – this show promises to be an unforgettable night full of hits, nostalgia and dancing.

Since their formation in Birmingham in the late 1970’s, the group has become one of the UK’s most successful musical exports, and they remain the biggest-selling and most successful touring Reggae act.

With over 100 Million albums sold globally, over 50 UK Hit singles, and 11 UK Top 10 albums, the band are renowned for their cutting political and social commentary and their chart-topping dance music, winning the hearts and minds of generations of fans around the world. With a new album in the works, the British group show fresh dynamism and excitement for what is still to come.

Four of the five surviving founding members remain in UB40 and have been recording and performing together since 1978: Robin Campbell, Norman Hassan, Earl Falconer & Jimmy Brown. The 11-piece band features Martin Meredith and Laurence Parry, who have been performing and recording with UB40’s iconic brass section for over 30 years. Matt Campbell, Robin Campbell’s son, on backing vocals; the talented young Jamaican, Jahred Gordon, on keys; and Brummie MC Gilly G. The band is fronted by lead vocalist of 5 years, Matt Doyle, who has won the hearts of UB40 fans around the world.

UB40’s most recent Australian and New Zealand tour was in 2024, following their latest hit record and Top 5 album UB45, which was received with rave reviews and the upcoming Unstoppable tour is hugely anticipated.

Their hits, including Back To Life and Keep On Movin, have become cultural staples for music fans around the world. Presently led by founder Jazzie B and dynamic vocalist Charlotte Kelly, the legacy of a band like Soul II Soul continues to reach new audiences and influence new generations of fusion artists who follow in their footsteps.
