Wet Denim Announce EP ‘Water For Dogs’ + Release Single ‘Mirrors’
Aotearoa rock quartet Wet Denim announce their forthcoming EP Water For Dogs, due for release on Thursday 17 September. Arrived today is the release of third and final single Mirrors; a euphoric and optimistic installment, offering the last glimpse of the band’s most ambitious body of work to date.
Mirrors explores the rollercoaster of the creative process through feel-good rock energy. Written during a period where frontman Nick Goodwin was struggling to write and create, the track began as a search for an external perspective before becoming a reflection on finding creative drive from within. With its buoyant and catchy chorus, it transforms the frustration of writer’s block into something expressive, hopeful and fun, further revealing the continued strength of Wet Denim’s songwriting.
Accompanying Mirrors is its luminous music video. The band explains,
“Creating DIY music videos without much of a budget leaves room for a certain kind of magic; the limitations become a creative challenge, forcing us to use simple ideas that relay a message less with bells and whistles, more through their honesty and intention.
With Mirrors, we’ve explored the search for an external perspective, only to find ourselves confronted by our own reflections. The mirror becomes a way of looking inward while searching outward, wanting to see ourselves through someone else’s eyes.” – Wet Denim
The world of Water For Dogs has been unfolding throughout 2026, with previous singles Living Room and Silence each occupying a different lane in the showcase of the band’s refreshed rock direction and continuing to capture the energy of their renowned live performance. Silence was featured on Rolling Stone AUS Best NZ/AUS Music Of The Week and the band took the new singles to RNZ’s Live to Air, available to watch in full here.
