The entire record was self-recorded and produced, showcasing Smith’s musical range and aptitude, proving that a considered and refined record can be made with talent, and a persistent DIY ethos.

The new single You’re Never Coming Home is accompanied by a playful music video, filmed locally in Dairy Flat, Auckland featuring a retro Volkswagen Beetle sharing a series of events on repeat.

The track catches the weight of absence and the strange routines that can form around loss. It combines reflective lyrics, warm guitars and a psychedelic edge with an iconic harmonica riff throughout. The resulting song carries nostalgic ties with roots in alternative rock.

With the album now out in the world, You’re Never Coming Home provides an entry point into Smith’s self made musical world. Six years in the making, the record stands as a document of persistence and a deep connection to the craft of making music.
